I am excited about learning all about my new Nikon D5000 DSLR...
I am interested in all your favorite photography blogs, help, tutorials, or even classes to get me movin' in the DSLR direction...any suggestions?

Definitely check out Pioneer Woman Photography. The archives have tons of hints, help, etc.
The best beginner book I would recommend is Understanding Exposure. It explains the fundamentals of aperture, shutter speed, and film speed and how they work together.
Photography is such a great journey!
